Rooted in the Land
The crops we grow, including alfalfa, corn, and wheat, are not just part of our landscape. They are the foundation of our herd’s nutrition. By producing much of our own feed, we reduce reliance on external supply chains while ensuring our cows receive high quality, nourishing diets tailored by a specialized nutritionist. This closed loop approach allows us to stay connected to every step of the process, from soil to feed to milk.
We are constantly exploring ways to reduce our environmental impact, from improving crop efficiency to adopting practices that support soil health and long term land sustainability. For us, farming is not just about today. It is about preserving the land for generations to come.
Innovation on the Farm
Sustainability also means embracing innovation. Our on farm processing facility allows us to produce, process, and package our A2 Protein milk within 150 meters. This ensures freshness while reducing transportation emissions and handling, keeping our operations efficient and environmentally conscious.
Technology plays a key role in how we care for our herd. Each cow is equipped with an activity tracker, allowing us to monitor her health and behavior in real time. This individualized approach ensures that every animal receives the attention she needs when she needs it, improving both welfare and productivity.
Caring for Our Herd
Animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do. Our cows are provided with comfortable sand beds, balanced nutrition, and a calm, well maintained environment. Every member of our team is trained in proper handling procedures, and our practices are reviewed annually by third party experts to ensure we exceed industry standards.
A healthy, well cared for herd is essential to producing high quality milk. When our cows thrive, so does everything else.
A Better Milk, Made Locally
Our transition to an entirely A2 herd reflects our forward thinking approach to dairy. A2 Protein milk is naturally free of A1 proteins that may cause discomfort for some people, offering a more digestible option for families. Produced in small batches right here on the farm, our milk is as local and transparent as it gets.

By keeping everything on site, from growing feed to bottling milk, we give our customers confidence in where their food comes from and how it is made.
Looking Ahead
Sustainability at Walker Farms is an ongoing journey. We are always learning, adapting, and improving, whether that means reducing our carbon footprint, enhancing animal care, or investing in new technologies that make our farm more efficient and resilient.
From field to farmhouse, every decision we make is guided by a simple goal: to produce high quality milk in a way that respects our animals, our land, and our community.
At Walker Farms, quality comes first, and sustainability makes it possible.
